Black Swan 2010
what a fucking brilliant film!
*spoilers below*
i was inspired to watch this film after watching the ballet of swan lake and fuck i’m so glad i did. this movie has such phenomenal costume and makeup design that adds so much life to the story, i.e. nina slowly develops scales the more she loses herself into the role of the black swan and her wardrobe darkens as nina’s obsession with being the perfect black swan grows.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2012
one of the more tasteful superhero movies i’ve watched. good balance of foreshadowing, storytelling, and acting. andrew garfield really brings a lot of dimension to the character of peter parker while still paying homage to the character’s roots. mark webb did a great job placing hints and references to what happens in the second movie without going over the top. only thing that throws me off is the lizard’s cgi job
