The Squid and the Whale 2005

I was very much enjoying this film, until it ended, or should I say stopped, I guess it was an artistic choice for there to be no real ending, which for me didn’t work.
The acting is great and it is a really emotional and disturbing look at how divorce can break a family apart.

Toy Story 1995
This is one of the films people are most surprised to hear that I’ve never seen, now having seen it I can understand why, it is pretty much the perfect kids film whilst also being enjoyable for adults.
For me it was the side characters that made this film, Rex being my favourite, the story was simple, but well told and was paced well so that it never lost my attention.
I’m interested to see how the following 3 films build on the characters and where the story goes.

Stone Island the Movie.
This is a film about the worst type of football fan, it’s essentially 90 minutes of unlikable characters getting into fights, calling each other mugs and doing cocaine, none of the characters are any different at the end of the film as they are at the start (apart from the 2 that die).
Danny Dyer isn’t a good actor, and the rest of the cast are very one note.
I can imagine if you’re a football hooligan or wannabe football hooligan, this would be your favourite film, but for me it was incredibly dull.
