  what i love the most about this movie is how intuitively the empty spaces are used despite not containing any major plot devices or action. the scenes where nothing really seems to happen is exactly what makes miyazaki’s movies so so captivating. every blade of grass and aerial shot rendered perfectly, a bowl of food sits patiently on the table for a total of 13 frames per second
