This movie kinda perfectly sums up how I feel about all Tarantino movies in general.

It’s an absolutely fantastic movie that didn’t illicit any reaction out of me at all.

I mean, it’s a great ride, I thoroughly enjoyed almost every minute of it (minus some scenes that drag), but like I don’t feel anything internally outside of that.

This isn’t Tarantino’s fault, his movies just don’t greatly resonate with me beyond enjoying them.

But yeah the movie is cool, Buscemi rocks.

Like the first one, this is a completely solid and fine comedy movie.

Silly, yes, but that’s expected. The trio have great chemistry together and there are some good laugh out loud lines.

What this movie did make me realise is how underrated of an actor Chris Pine is.

I say this because I’ve seen him in 3 very different movies lately - Hell or High Water, Dungeons and Dragons and now this - and he’s fantastic in all of them. Which made me think about other roles he’s in, and he’s always very good, and he’s got some great range to his roles.

But I think it’s pretty cool that an ending has me thinking about it when so many movies these days are predictable.

Perhaps the ending is not designed to be ‘liked’ or ‘disliked’ but to get the underlying message of the film across, which in that case, it succeeds at that really well.

Outside of the ending, it’s a flawed but engaging movie. Like all Gareth Edwards films, it’s shot…

It’s the most average movie I’ve seen in a while. It’s fine. Not bad and definitely not great, but there is some enjoyment to be had here.

It’s a shame, because somewhere within all the weird reshoots and plot points, there actually is the potential for a very good movie.

    Just lacked all the execution.

I wish it had focused on the aerial combat more as a point of difference. The one major aerial sequence in the film is actually…
