    As a film itself: I’m glad I finally saw this! Wicked is definitely entertaining and would be a fun rewatch with friends. Some of these songs are next level great.

    I’m not going to go as far to say this isn’t art, because I’m sure this means something to someone out there. 

    What I am going to say is that this isn’t entertainment. This will add nothing positive to your life, not only in its deplorable narrative but in its lifeless cinematography, its wildly underdeveloped characters and its satisfactory at best performances. 

    Skip it.

    What a beautifully heartbreaking film. Fantastic performances all around, but Ledger in particular was astounding. Ennis is one of the most morally burdened characters I’ve ever seen in cinema and Ledger really brought those intense feelings to life. 

    I loved that the film was unafraid to dedicate a considerable portion of its runtime to developing the lives of Jack and Ennis apart from eachother. It was very effective, as it made the final act almost nightmare-like in the distance and uncertainty that the characters are forced to confront between one another.

    Maybe the real strangers were the absolute freak restaurant workers who, I’m not kidding, agree to ‘cook’ the protagonist’s meal of choice: “a cheeseburger with no meat.”

    So a slice of cold American cheese on a dry sesame seed bun? The quality of that ‘meal’ pretty much replicates the quality of this film
