The Boondock Saints 1999
Willem Dafoe in drag is the best thing I’ve ever seen. His character and Rocko definitely carried this film for me, obviously everyone did a great job, but would not have been half as good without them in it.

The Darjeeling Limited 2007
I don’t know if I liked this one or The Grand Budapest Hotel better. I’ll have to watch both again. It lands somewhere between touching and hilarious. Maybe its themes hit close to home? Wonderful through and through.
Edit: I think Grand Budapest is objectively a better movie, but this is by far my favorite Wes Anderson film. For me this movie feels like being brought along on a wild spiritual journey, and I love the style of it and the characters are great, and the setting is beautiful. I'm not sure what it is, but I love this movie.

The Zone of Interest 2023
This movie is like a Nazi slice of life. It is a mundane horror. Every angle is intentional. The sound design is incredibly immersive. Every scene is so intentionally put together, and it makes the point I think it is trying to make very well. And it punches you in the gut and makes you look around yourself and wonder if there are idle evils that you are ignoring. Utterly poignant and terrifying.
