Lilya was born on the same day as Britney Spears, and like Britney, she rejects her sexual capital by shaving her head in an act of despair and hopelessness. In doing so, she presents herself to men in the least desirable way possible, hoping to free herself from the abuse she has to endure. But tragically, this changes nothing. The world remains just as cruel. In the end, the only escape she finds is through death—her final renunciation of a world that offers nothing but suffering, a “gift” she would have rather not received.

Rappresenta magnificamente l’innocenza delle bambine e la loro capacità di distinguere tra bene e male, spesso con maggiore chiarezza rispetto agli adulti, vincolati da regole stupide. Ti trasporta completamente nel suo mondo onirico e puro. Mi ha ricordato molto il film spagnolo “Las niñas”, di Pilar Palomero, per la sua delicatissima rappresentazione dell’infanzia <3
