  Finally rewatched this high-praised classic. The first time I watched it, it was right after I read Mario Puzo's original novel of this story. To be honest, I couldn't enjoy the movie then with an open mind as I did now. In fact, I've postponed my first watch of Part II and III as a result.

  Transcendence 2014

  While AI as a subject is more relevant than ever, Transcendence has not aged as much since 2014 as I feared it would have. Given the topcast, I was underwhelmed with the overall result. The story ends less poignantly or sinister than it could have. It missed out on the chance to really drive home the message it portrays due to the unresolved dilemma between pursuing the love drama and the global disaster theme.

  The cast played so well that I unconsciously rationed my drink during the movie and only drank when the characters could take a sip. This was so good that after 20 minutes, you'd forget that this movie was actually shot during WWII (!).

  An action film with the usual predictable elements. Yet, the depth of character, the cast and humor contribute to the perfect mix to make this work.
