  This may be one of my favorite books that I have ever read, it reads like a long form poem, and it is just so beautiful and gripping. I loved everything about it and the emotional attachment I had to the characters were more than in any other book. All the characters were fleshed out and interesting.   Lolita is so frustrating because it has a lot of potential to be a really good film as it's an adaptation of an important work. There can be interesting ideas about Oedipal(ish) desire, pedophilia, and even toxic parents controlling your life.
