  made me appreciate stuff like thirteen and kids a little more (i still don’t necessarily agree with how kids is presented — however i don’t think korine has ever written something in poor faith or in attempts to glorify). wholly unsubtle and claustrophobic in ways that only support its ethos. blinding neon luminescence and blistering sunshine soak every scene. it’s not difficult to find yourself drowning in the permeating sweat of vapid promiscuity, or in the ambience of modern suburbia. people not as people but as escapist entities striving to achieve an enlightenment not yet understood.
