  A super promising start to a career (which makes its director deciding to go all in on AI in the most absurd way possible that much worse): elegantly shot, with a fantastic choice of color scheme, and confidence with actors (Diop's really good in particular). A big issue though is the story itself feels like it's going more for emotional truth rather than making sense, and there's definitely some cliched observation here. Still, maybe there can be a comeback.

  Hysterically disturbing. I have no idea if "Alan Resnick" is a real person or not, but this is one of my favorite performances of the year, and disturbing in all the right ways. Just watch it for yourself.
