  This film has a great premise but is consistently let down my the expositional dialogue. I saw a lot of tears and heard a lot of emotional states described without ever feeling any of them myself. Poetry as a plot and character devise is used throughout in a similar way - I can see what it is trying to tell me and can appreciate that but I never actually felt it. The regular voice overs were either poems or facts…

  An epic. Do think remake is better but the raw material is all here. Dk how he wrote it. Lots of bergmanisms but also pacier than his other stuff. Sort of insane to make with your wife as lead.
