  Was really looking forward to this, but ultimately felt disappointed by the execution here. I came away feeling like Rodney’s contributions were glossed over in favour of a hero’s trajectory treatment, it felt very all over the place and the linkages between colonial policing and BLM in the UK felt really superficially drawn. A real missed opportunity for understanding Rodney’s take on Asian and African unity and disunity in the Guyanese context. I think this hagiographic format of storytelling is so prevalent and baked into TV’s institutional frameworks, and yet it’s so bad for the left’s knowledge production and dissemination of underreported histories.
