Something I realized while watching this mind-twisting masterpiece was at the end, when he is burning Ben’s body, he takes off his clothes and burns them too. While this makes sense to burn all evidence he really didn’t need to strip down completely. In literature, whenever a character changes his clothes, he is usually changing his identity along with it. This shows that when he burns his clothes, he is burning his identity also in a way. He is getting rid of any trace of evidence of himself there, just like his father made him burn any trace of his mother with her clothes.
