I only love this movie because I'm Russian and grew up watching it every year, but if you are at all curious about learning about Soviet culture, this movie is hilarious and fun and it'll give you a little bit of a cultural portal. Recommend.

this isn't a joke to me... this is my real life. it's very obvious the people making it were truly involved with real queer nightlife and communal living / independent community-building and knew & lived the realities of what they're parodying. the sensory deprivation tank scene in particular is exactly what cinema should be. not the perfect movie to me personally and also mostly the entire movie is about explicit unsimulated sex so take that as you will, but i enjoyed it.
