This movie is a bit of rarity in modern Hollywood. It swings wildly for the fences and MOSTLY succeeds but is also fairly straightforward and easy to watch. I’ll sum up the plot by just saying this is a movie about a man on a spaceship bound to colonize a new world. The unique thing about the protagonist is that he can and does die multiple times in order to perform jobs that nobody else will and then is reborn…

I’m not sure where to start with this movie. It’s sloppy, has aged poorly, and the series wouldn’t miss it if it were to disappear. The story finds Ethan tracking down a bad man who wants to unleash a virus upon the world. Superficially this is a spy movie but there’s hardly any levity to the movie, save for one line which I’ll get to later. I don’t need anything super deep, but I don’t really understand the villain’s motivation…

What did I watch? This has the Star Trek name and some terminology but it looks like a SyFy Original movie. The plot once again involves a person seeking revenge with a doomsday weapon. Phillipa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) is or was the emperor of the mirror universe, but we're barely shown her acting as emperor. In the first five minutes she wins the throne and then next thing you know she’s in charge of a bar in the main universe.…
