Needed to be weirder or more normal, I don't think the balance works here. Cage is very fun to watch but he's so out there that he doesn't work as the everyman protagonist Lynch stories rely on. I wouldn't trade Cage for anything, but Wild At Heart really needs a MacLachlan-style performances for the emotional core to work.
