It's not as immediately mindblowing as There Will Be Blood and while the film starts to drag halfway through and it's not really clear what it's trying to achieve, the acting by Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffmann is absolutely phenomenal. If Phoenix doesn't win an Oscar for his performance, something is wrong.

I think this is one film that'll really benefit from a re-watch.

Amazing movie. A parody of old blaxploitation movies that works even if you aren't familiar with the genre.

An entertaining superhero flick with some good acting from the main characters and nice effects. Doesn't really leave much of a mark, but it accomplishes what it sets out to do.
