Like the original lot of this is a bit crap but the bits that are good are SO good that it doesn’t matter
First time they played the Penderecki piece in episode 8 I was watching it on my phone on the train and I had to stop myself from screaming with joy and terror and amazement I was just so blown away (hahahaha) by that whole sequence.

I got Eugene much more and the role of Jason Schwartzman’s character made way more sense
Thinking a lot about how this tells a similar story to Call Me By Your Name but whereas that is from the younger man’s perspective and therefore romantic, peaceful and idyllic this is from the older man’s and is much more strained, shameful and imo much more emotional.
Really enjoy the whole queerness=disembodiment, homophobia=disease thing going on
Had got it in my mind that this was gonna be really annoying but it wasn’t.
Ewan McGregor is properly properly good.
Love how Robert Carlyle has been cast as terrifying somehow whimsical psycho in everything I’ve seen him in. Would be interesting to see a film where he plays a bona fide sweetiepie.
