I rarely do the thing of reading a piece of art exclusively through the lens of my own, hyper-specific experiences AND I know this film is not really about trans people BUT as someone who is genuinely dependent for their life on regular injections taken just below the spot that Elizabeth does... I felt kind of weird, to be honest.

so much to love here! trans actors, lots of hot gays, the most beautiful tailoring montages (and associated metaphors with skill, craft: the body/self as a project, not static, perfect), and mothers learning and growing. love how this film (much like “Pride”) doesn’t separate “queerness” as an identity marker exclusive to a particular kind of expression, but treats it as a project and an attitude towards widening the forms of life avaliable to us all! a lot to learn from.…
