The Yakuza 1974
"The Yakuza" (1974) emerged at a crucial moment in U.S.-Japan relations, when Western fascination with samurai and yakuza culture reached its peak. The Substance 2024
Nothing annoys me more than a movie made by posh people who pretend to be transgressive with ideas that have been seen a thousand times, copied without any modesty.

Joker: Folie à Deux 2024
Todd Phillips has to be thanked for his integrity. For sticking to his vision even though the movie won't do well at the box office and despite the bad reviews from those who DIDN'T UNDERSTAND the first one AND ALWAYS WANT MORE OF THE SAME. Great movie, amazing (once again) Joaquin Phoenix's performance, great cast, great atmosphere. A first class show.
