Millennium Night
Entry 1:
slow burn "brooding romance" that just feels pretentious as all hell, about a girl who at first can't seem at first to leave this man who has to be one of the biggest losers to ever grace the cinema and then being ghosted by some 50 year old dude. The only thing i would give this movie is that it manages to keep its snail speed pacing consistent throughout the whole film.
After having watched only three Luca Guadagnino films prior, I did not have many expectations going into this especially after the critically lauded Challengers, which to this day I still do not know what I think of, though I was aware that the subject matter as made evidently clear from the title, is not entirely new to him and hence a certain level of tactfulness in portrayal was anticipated.
