really liked this. it transforms something so detached from the human experience into a compellingly sympathetic depiction of characters who are ultimately searching for their place to belong. it also doesn’t shy away from the bloodied sinews and flesh of the characters’ transgressions, but remains a tragic story about connection, love and growing pains.

ambivalent but mostly leaning towards disliking this film because i can't get past the issue i have with how it conveys its core message.
at a cursory glance, i liked it. it held my attention, it's stylish, the body horror and prosthetics are amazing, and i enjoyed the performances, especially demi moore's. and though it overstays its welcome, i appreciate how balls-to-the-wall ridiculous the final act is.
