this officially trumps 13 going on 30 as my favourite romcom starring mark ruffalo

rewatched @ paradise theatre with a friend last night and yeah this movie still fucking rocks. it quite literally has everything you would ever want from a film - sex, love, humour, violence, twists, and the works. 

and so rarely am I moved by romance but sookhee destroying all those books for lady hideko is arguably one of the most romantic scenes in cinema history <3

bend it like beckham is a powerful reminder of how important it is to see yourself represented on the big screen (brown girl who grew up playing soccer, albeit badly). 

all my love to everyone involved in the making of this film, it's held a special place in my heart after all these years ❤️
