Wow. The animation of this movie is outstanding. The story is basically a family road trip gone awry because of Skynet. The film has so many laugh out loud moments and a few other moments that tug at the heartstrings of a father like myself. It was a great family movie and I could watch it again.
The origin story of my favorite superhero. In 2002, I wouldn't say a bad thing about this film because I didn't want to jinx ever getting to see Spidey on the big screen again. A decade later, I'll recommend watching the reboot first. This version is great, campy fun, but it doesn't have the heart that the new version has. Still, it is worth watching many times.
If you see this, watch in IMAX 3D with a beer in hand. I forgave the minimal character development of the villains in lieu of spectacular visuals. A convoluted story with multiple new characters is used to build a franchise universe instead of focusing on this solo mission. But it is pretty to look at.
