  Underneath all of the terribly delivered lines from a subpar script and genuinely laughable CGI, there is an 82-year-old Harrison Ford at least pretending to give a damn and smash things up as a Red Hulk. For that, I’m awarding the movie an additional star and forgetting about the preceding 100 minutes of comic book nonsense that led up to the big red fighting machine I paid money to see.

  A once-in-a-generation sci-fi epic that captures my imagination and sparked not just a fascination of science but filmmaking as a whole when I was a teenager. It’s absolute perfection, and getting to see this in 70mm IMAX with people who traveled far and wide to do so as well made for one of the best movie-going experiences of my life.

  I thought this was a great experience. Romulus was gripping and tense from start to finish and had some of the best production design in the entire franchise. I’m on the record for finding the original Alien underwhelming, but the homages this paid to that movie in both aesthetic and storytelling technique makes me appreciate it a lot more in hindsight.
