The Substance 2024
I'll admit I expected more, not particularly scary or shocking. The Substance mostly functions as a black comedy punctuated by softcore porn, and the plot is very predictable - predictable isn't bad (it often denotes a well seeded narrative) but little about the story rises above it to make it feel worthwhile.
I think it's a good gateway to get more people into horror thanks to its accolades.
