Sound of Metal 2019
A very special film. Packed with an incredible amount of emotional punch. The viewer can easily empathize with the main character due to the amazing performance by Riz Ahmed and supporting actors as well as the perfect sound design/editing that fully immerses you into the world of the main character. There were scenes that have stuck in my mind long after the film ended and scenes that I will continue to go back to because they were so masterful. This is a fantastic debut feature and one that everyone should check out.

The Queen's Gambit 2020
Perfect all the way through. Incredibly subtle performances and slick editing combined with a constantly changing style never lets the series feel boring. It allows an audience of any kind to understand the game of chess using cinematography and great acting from the players. Even if you don't like or care about chess you can like and care about this series.
