what a fantastic return for henry selick! i enjoyed this so much, the character design was a little bit hard to get into but i think that may have something to do with me expecting it to look like coraline. i do love stop motion a lot and think this movie’s plot did best in the medium. a lot of people i saw mentioned how it felt stuffed with too many things, and i can see where they’re coming from but i didn’t get that vibe. this honestly might be my favorite movie of the year

“brother, life’s a bitch… and she’s back in heat.”
this movie had the punchiest one liners i’ve ever heard. the practical effects weren’t necessarily phenomenal as the faces didn’t allow for a lot of movement but they still looked creepy as hell.
my favorite part had to be as he was looking around at everything with the newly found sunglasses and money just said “this is your god.” pretty neat
