I really wanted to like this movie. The humor is effective when it’s present, and there is certainly some merit in the editing skill that is shown off excessively.
Unfortunately, I’m just not sure there’s enough here to work with? It’s already a short movie, but it would probably be better if it was 15-30 min shorter.…

Consider this a spoiler mark because I’m not sure if I marked it correctly or not.
I cannot stress enough how enjoyable the period aesthetics manage to be. There are plenty of shots that would make for hauntingly beautiful stills. Furthermore, so much of what I would have assumed to be inherent, necessary campiness is made into something unsettling by tension and sound design.
