Some brilliant ideas and exhilarating moments but it just kept missing it's mark.
The moment the penny dropped to how surface level the film's writing was was the men-being-chased scene. Soul 2020
Went into this concerned it was going to be just a rehash of Inside Out, but it turned out to be one of the most profound things Pixar has ever made.
If Inside Out was for kids, this was absolutely aimed for adults. It was aimed for those who have felt their souls have been scratched and feathered by life (pun v intentional).
Also, more of those gorgeous gorgeous jazz scenes please!! I died and then came back as a that cute blue plushie thing.
