Ex Machina 2015
This sci-fi thriller was a magnificent film for an IMAX theater showing. It was unique in its twists and the heart of characters and yet the topic is still very predictable and relevant (the complexities of AI in a new world). I found myself likening it to iRobot. I would be remiss not to mention the that there were interesting interactions of gender and power in the film as well. Initially, how sexualized all female characters were was off putting. I didn’t mind by the end! No spoilers in this review!
