Here’s the thing: you don’t have to *love* Bridget Jones, but not to be amused or even empathize with her makes you, to put it simply - non-human.
She’s always trying her best to navigate life, and, quite frankly, we’ve all been Bridget Jones at least once in our lives. Locked out and clumsy of course, not being chased by McDreamy and King George VI.
I’ll be honest here: I was very hesitant to watch yet another Bridget Jones movie in which she falls (sometimes literally) for a guy and then it goes awry… But what I just saw was a million miles away from that.
Yes, she does fall for a guy and yes, it does go awry and yes, there’s a bunch of English jokes mostly served by Hugh Grant, but - it was not the most important thing in the film.
