God this is boring. I'm not sure if I hate the characters or the performances more, but both are so detached and lazy. There are multiple long (looooong), edgy monologues that are just fucking interminable. Literally the only two interesting things that happen are the shower scene, and Conner O'Malley getting a blowjob in a movie theater office.
Look, I get it. I saw Donnie Darko when I was 13 and loved it, and maybe if I had been that age when I saw this movie I would have felt like it was more profound, but I didn't, and I don't.
