I know Soderbergh never wants to get complacent and wants to try something new with every movie, but I’d really love it if he made a few more Le Carre-esque spy thrillers like this. He really knows how to make these scenes sing where it’s just smart people talking in a room, and we don’t know who’s deceiving whom. And this had maybe career-best work from editor Mary Ann Bernard, particularly in that great polygraph scene.

Paddington in Peru 2024
