I’ve been riding hard for this movie for years, endlessly rewatched in my household during Covid lockdowns and now revisited as we prepare for our pilgrimage to Legoland.
Tiffany Haddish as a singing villain ought to be reason enough to love this movie, but all the songs are bangers and the jokes hit just as hard as in the first. Lego Movie 2 you will always be famous.
Rewatching with the kids as we prepare to visit Animal Kingdom, because literally the only Disney IP they are truly invested in is… Avatar. I would say don’t blame me but clearly this is my fault.
Anyway, this movie has rocked every single time I’ve revisited, on small screens and big, and it is truly insane how much better this looks than literally any other effects-driven movie of its era.
If I were told I could write “Highway 61 Revisited” but that it would hurt the feelings of Pete Seeger, the nicest man alive… I think I’d keep that siren whistle in my pocket.
