    I wish the kids who made fun of me for being mixed called me something cool too (like cmon ,,blue eyed onryo’’ ???)

    instead they just asked me dumb shit like if I eat everything with chopsticks.

    On another note, the feeling of being a ,,monstrocity” and at times having no actual place to belong to was so inherently familiar.

    This was an immensly intimate watch. The effects of war on the psyche and by extension - family, were visible firsthand. Subtleties like the constant army play fighting and watching war videos by the kids were startling. 

    „I know my thinking is wrong but it’s easier than taking everything I’ve done into question” 

    The conversations between Serhiy and Lesia were of admirable depth and offered thought provoking commentary about love and how war affects not only those in it but the people surrounding them.
