I tuned out of it after the first 30 minutes. It was hard, a lot of the cinematography felt like it filled the screen which I could admire. The storyline felt lengthy and offensive and the audio mix was not the greatest.
I think so far Wings has been a favorite, hoping to find more on this journey.
I’ve had quite the interesting back to back film days, watching this after watching Fire Walk with me, it’s been a recipe filled with mindfuck. My brain is swelling and constantly repairing itself, will be back with a few more pallet cleansers till then, also went in blind for this, barely watched the trailer now I have an overwhelming headache.
Ayo did a phenomenal job in this.
This film captures it all. It feels like it has that fame catches you at a fast pace feeling. The editing seems to feel that way. The songs define significant moments in her life. The way it’s shot makes it feel like a very raw and intimate film. Naomi Ackie becomes Whitney Houston. An absolute highlight to this film. This feels like the best and most accurate way of capturing her story. A film for the fans and a film to introduce new ones.
