Maybe Ridley was left wanting because 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) didnโt feature enough boat scenes, so he made a whole movie about a bout. The film also serves as a prototype for the military training that we see in G.I. Jane (1997).

What a sweet little movie. I've been looking forward to it for a while because of the intersectionality involved. Sometimes itโs hard to relate to skinny gay guys and fat straight guys, but the combination of fatness and gayness, plus nerdiness, makes me feel like Iโm watching a (way less fucked-up) version of myself. Itโs especially important to have this kind of representation for children, I donโt think Iโve seen anything like thisโฆ
I don't know how popular this opinion is, but I think part 2 is a bit weaker than part 1, while still being a massive achievement in the world of cinema. It should win some Oscars tonight.
