  this film was a really tough watch, especially that scene. however, it is so incredibly poignant and important, and even though it is nearly 40 years old, feels as relevant as ever. it has a magnitude of empathy for the main character sarah, played brilliantly by jodie foster, and we get to fully explore the aftermath of such a traumatic event and how she is treated by those around her. great deconstruction and condemnation of numerous misogynistic tropes surrounding the subject matter, and an overall really well acted and written film.
