I spend years not caring about movies, then I watch something like this and think "man, I fucking love cinema" and it makes me wanna get into it again*
*and by 'it' I mean as a passive consumer, given how much of this documentary focuses on the DIY punk rock ethos of "go do it"
not sure how much I like it (partly my fault, I wasn't paying full attention), but it made me curious about seeing other movies from the director
At first it was engaging, and I felt I was watching some different and worth the exposure.
Halfway into it, though, I started to lose interest and question what was the role and the truth to those monologues.
Why am I watching repeated scenes of the director fucking and doing drugs while a female voice reads a too poetic monologue she most likely didn't write?
So skipped until the Cambodia segment, whose monologue became realer and interesting again.
