  I could honestly talk forever about this film. I believe that both April, Teddy and Fred and even Emily represent depression in it’s different manifestations. This represents the naive yet such complex nature of teens in high school that struggle with trauma or mental health. The film never explicitly even mentions these topics but it resonated very deeply. You can see the need for male validation from young girls, self destructive cycles, suicidal tendencies, mania, substances without ever explicitly saying…
