Liked it, but didn’t love it. The love story was believable enough and charming, with good dialogue, good performances. The time travel part was just a little too distracting. I realize it would have done nothing for the story to explain a little more how it worked, but the questions that kept popping in my head kept me just a little too off the main focus. Plus it felt a little manipulative to me, the idea of going back and fixing every little “wrong” thing you say or do. Anyway, cute, but distracting.

Broadcast News 1987
Really good movie. I think what especially stands out is the writing and casting. Holly Hunter is great. I think it’s rare to have a romantic comedy (if that’s what this is) where I care equally about the love story aspects as I do about the setting, industry, side story, stuff like that. It all intertwines perfectly.

Another reminder of why I wouldn’t want to own a restaurant. But also a really good look at why people do. I really like the snippet of life element of this, the awkward and realistic characters, great food content, music. Just all around well done. First saw this when it came out and loved it then too. It held up.
