a perfect, timeless 2000s/2010s period piece, rife with comic book style graphics, lovable geeks, quirky dialogue, indie rock bangers, and elliot page’s T-boy swag. speaking of, this movie is what helped me figure out i was gay (my coming out trajectory has very closely followed elliot’s). one major bummer is that the icky-ness of juno/mark’s “friendship” went over my head as a kid, so i feel like i have to overcompensate for my obliviousness by making an extra big fuss during my rewatches now (“BOO! HISS!”)

The Truman Show 1998
Pretty good. Crazy ending. Made me a little anxious. I imagine watching this in theatres felt akin to seeing the the twist at the end of Don’t Worry Darling play out on the big screen. I’m now reminded of this dude who would walk around Toronto with a giant pig on a leash named Truman in like 2018. Anyone else??
