kinda slow but very cute!! the relationships (especially with the main kid) and the outdoorsy nostalgia made this a win for me, but i get it not being amazing for everyone.

ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!!! the visuals are so cool and work really well to demonstrate the setting and character changes. andrei said he watched this in school and that really makes sense i feel like the actors did a great job conveying the messaging of shakespeare’s lines through body language. i went in thinking leo’s performance would be outstanding but was wowed by the artistry of the movie.

much more meditative than any studio ghibli movie i’ve seen (i have not watched all of them!!!) but absolutely beautiful. i love how much water impacted the art direction throughout the entire movie. anti-war messaging in this pales in comparison to princess mononoke’s (here’s ur crown queen u dropped it 👑!!!!)
