Surprised by how much I got wrapped up in the intrigue and dirty tricks of Pope voting, I guess that’s a testament to the writing and performances. The score on this also brought some of the intensity to a drama about optics and how a figurehead can set the tone of progress or lack there of.

The Twister: Caught in the Storm 2025
Pretty harrowing accounts in this and nice that they had CCTV footage and phone audio to really give the impact of the tornado. Interesting how much religion plays into the survivor commentary but it relates to the region it happened in. But after flying around in a car inside a tornado, I’d probably find religion real quick.

NYE Film #1: To me, the perfect NYE film, was enamoured with its style and use of character actors since happening upon it on CityTV one evening in the early 00’s. An amazing collaboration between the Coens and Raimi shot beautifully by Deakins. Love everything about this movie.

Clockwatchers 1997
This is a great ensemble that sets up a light tone early on that gradually diminishes as the story unfolds. Can’t help but recognize a lot of the toxic office dynamic that’s showcased in this film. A nice depiction of how disposable temp workers are treated and how companies can divide its workforce through self surveillance. Parker Posey is definitely the highlight but great turns from Toni Collette and Lisa Kudrow too.
