What an excellent film. Ingenuity, the engineering design process, rationality, humanity, communal endeavor, friendship, mutual responsibility - it’s all about humanity at its best. Well-cast, well-acted, tightly scripted. Just wonderful all around.

This was a frustrating film. It has moments of beauty, a few creepy images, an intermittently unsettling score, and some great performances by the two main child actors, but it’s too slow of a burn for too little of a pay-off.
