Utterly charming! When I watch movies, especially Rom-Coms, like this I tend to assume everything is going to be cookie cutter. No room for anything fun or original. But I found so many of the performances felt like they had a lot of heart.
I can’t believe they refused to put Hugh Grant in cute little glasses more!
I think following up Parasite was always going to put this movie under a microscope. I had a lot of fun, I thought Robert Pattinson did a phenomenal job. Also I just love a fun sci-fi concept.
I’m curious to see how much of the film was directly adapted from the book and how much was original. The plot gets messy and things get dropped. Ultimately I just think I was expecting a much tighter film.
Maybe I’ll go back and watch this in a couple months and have a completely different feeling on it.
Incredibly gripping. Acting, directing, cinematography, score. All on point. A serious contender for best film of 2024.
The biggest issue with this movie is convincing your friends that a 2hr film about catholic bureaucracy is one of the most exciting things you’ve seen all year and that they should watch it.
Probably the best movie of 2024 in my opinion. If this isn’t nominated for best picture or Mikey Madison doesn’t get nominated I’ll riot. I loved the Florida Project so much but this is an incredible follow up. If you haven’t gotten the chance to watch it…. What are waiting for!
