Soul 2020
Soul is a playful look at the concept of death and it manages to tackle the subject matter in that familiar, breezy way that only Pixar can. Performances are tight, the animation is jaw dropping and the narrative keeps a nice brisk pace. Sentimentality and somewhat cliched narratives are present but it doesn’t really matter when the movie contains so many beautiful moments which are genuinely moving.
Also there is a pedantic accountant character and I’m not sure whether I find it funny or insulting. 10/10, would listen to Richard Ayoade’s dulcet tones again.
