Wow. Took a stand against pop culture this summer by not watching either Barbie or Oppenheimer, and I’m now realizing that I was wrong for it. It’s over the top and subtle at the same time, incredible funny, and makes me want to put on a headband and stage a massive brawl with country club equipment. Extremely disappointed to find out that the patriarchy is in fact, not about horses and trucks, but I think I’ll get over it. After all, I’m just Ben. 4.5 stars.
Been hearing about this movie forever, mostly in dialogue instigated by Rob $tone’s high-school mega-classic “Chill Bill”, which after watching the movie, turns out he just ripped the whole audio from the movie and put a trap beat on it. Kinda took some of the magic of the song away for me. Anyways, the movie had amazing choreography of beautiful women fighting each other to the death, great music, and awesome style. I wish I was cool enough to come up with the name “Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.” Excited for part 2. 4 stars.
Heard my siblings talk about this one all the time when I was a kid but never gave it a shot until it was recommended by my housemate Nina. Michael Cera clinic in this one, nailing the role that only he can really pull off, and JK Simmons playing cute dad is fun. 4 stars.
Watched on a recommendation from Nina, and I gotta say this movie was awesome. If you liked Saltburn, you’ll love this movie. Tom Ripley sprinted so Oliver Quick could run. Great suspense, lots of crazy, and enough Italians to make you feel like you’re in New Jersey. 4.5 stars.
